St. Ann's Parish council is an advisory council that assists our Pastor in shaping and developing programs and policies that will enhance the spiritual development of our parish. While we do address some of the physical needs of our parish, our primary purpose is to support and advise our Pastor regarding the needs of our parishioners. We try to work in unison with our Parish Finance Committee as well as St. Ann's School Board, but our job is not administrative in nature. It is advisory to our Pastor, who then uses information from the Diocese, as well as Parish Council, Finance, and the School Board in order to make any decisions regarding what happens to our parish. Parish Council officers and members are listed in your bulletin. Each member serves a 3 year term, (sometimes more), and we are always looking for people who are willing to serve on Parish council. Any volunteers should contact the parish office.

Bishop Rice has recently called for all Parish Councils in the Springfield/Cape Girardeau Diocese to increase our evangelical efforts. We are looking at ways to achieve that goal. Our biggest concern currently is to improve communication with all parishioners so that they can all feel connected and have knowledge of Parish goals and programs. This has been difficult during the Covid 19 pandemic. We have recently been given approval to form a Church Building Repair/Maintenance subcommittee to act on any updates or repairs that need to happen at the Church. We will also utilize that subcommittee to form a long term plan for repairs and renovations to the Church building. That committee will then present a long term plan to the parish regarding renovation recommendations, costs, and possibly fundraising efforts. We are working hard to improve visibility and communication at St. Ann's Parish.
